Just last month, after a Boardwalk business owner reported seeing a suspect with a semi-automatic handgun in downtown Ocean City, MD, a Virginia man was arrested on multiple weapons charges. The suspect (who did not make threats with the weapon) was on the boardwalk with a handgun that was visible to patrons. Thanks to Ocean City’s City Watch security camera system, the city’s communications staff was able to locate and track the suspect. Officers quickly responded to the 7th Street area of the Boardwalk.
After locating the suspect, OCPD officers identified the man as Mohammed Imani, 20, of Woodbridge, VA. He was then detained without further incident. The semi-automatic handgun was located on Imani and it was found that the weapon was reported as being stolen from Spotsylvania County, Virginia.
